WeiterlesenIn this article we take a closer look at the alarm mode (also SOS mode). It explains how it works and what effect activation has on the GPS tracker.
A quick note in advance: The “SOS mode” is only available on meintal GPS trackers. Other functions that use the alarm mode are available for all GPS trackers.
Explanation of terms
The term alarm mode describes a specific way in which the GPS tracker works when this mode is activated.
What happens in alarm mode?
When the alarm mode is activated, two things happen:
- The GPS tracker automatically switches to the 10-second interval
- The alarm mode is not ended unless certain conditions occur; these are determined by the function that activates the alarm mode
When the alarm mode is ended, the GPS tracker switches back to the settings that were valid before activation.
Which functions use the alarm mode?
The alarm mode is currently used by three functions:
- SOS mode (only meintal GPS trackers)
- Notification when moving
- Notification when stationary
How is the alarm mode activated and ended?
The conditions under which the alarm mode is activated and ended depend on the function that uses it.
SOS mode
The SOS mode is only available on meintal GPS trackers.
To activate the SOS mode, the corresponding option must first be switched on in the app. The SOS mode can then be switched on by pressing the button on the top of the housing twice.
The SOS mode can only be ended via the app. This can be done via the detailed view of the GPS tracker in the app. Otherwise, the SOS mode remains active. Even if the battery of the meintal GPS tracker should discharge, the SOS mode will continue after recharging.
An active SOS mode is highlighted in color in the app.
Notification when stationary
The alarm mode is activated when the GPS tracker no longer moves (after 2 minutes). Since this is determined via the integrated acceleration sensor, it is GPS-independent.
The alarm mode can be ended early via the app. Otherwise, it will be ended by the GPS tracker when it is moved again.

The alarm mode is activated when the GPS tracker is moved. Here too, this is determined via the acceleration sensor and is therefore GPS-independent.
The alarm mode can be ended early via the app. Otherwise, it will be ended by the GPS tracker when it is no longer moving.

All functions that use the alarm mode in one way or another will inform you via push notification.
